(Get a job!?) Then, I was censored by the state of Arizona and overwhelmed by that – Why was wanting to be a writer so hard?? Am I being punished??
So a friend introduced me to Barney Rosset, who took me to a long lunch and said, “You think that’s bad!? Years go by, and I never gave up.

To him I give the credit for discovering what is now the republishing of RoadBabe! Barney signed me to his own imprint Blue Moon Books, and on that night –I’d come in from The Hamptons for it, to celebrate publishing my first anthology-as we partied in NYC at Billy’s Topless on 26th and 8th I looked over at Barney and he looked at me and we both threw back our heads and laughed.
